August 23, 2014 Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window…
It looks like a lovely sunny day!
I am thinking…
I am very excited to have a functioning computer again! iPhones are lovely but just don’t function in the same way that a nice computer can. It’s a bit jury-rigged and kind of ghetto looking but it works just fine for me! In theory I am getting one for my birthday this year. I asked for a desktop but it seemed like a no-go. I tried at least.
I am thankful…
I have had a sudden upswing of energy the past few days. I think it is because I’m getting ready to go to school again. I have to go and be a people again.
In the kitchen…
A bunch of boxes. Part of the sudden energy boost was spent throwing a bunch of crap out, as was absolutely necessary. The living room is actually fit for people! Kind of, anyways. Certainly much better than before.
I am wearing…
Jim-jams!
I am creating…
In addition to bringing up this blog again, I’ve started a blog about books, and am considering a blog about self-destruction.
I am going…
I thought about going to the public market today, but… well I was waiting for the mister to wake up, and that took until noon, and I am still in my jammies and just not sure I am up to being a human being today.
I am wondering…
Can I go to bed yet?
I am reading…
Almost done with the second book in the Ranger’s Apprentice series.
I am hoping…
This damn headache and dry skin goes away. I somehow managed to carve my skin in all sorts of places unintentionally.
I am looking forward to…
Birthday this week. School.
I am learning…
Cooking, a little bit. I’ve made dinner every day this week. There’s a recipe I found for buffalo chicken lasagna that I might make sometime on a weekend.
Around the house…
Cat. Bear. Catboy. Stuffed animals.
I am pondering…
Why is this song on my iTunes?
Also tattoo design. I have one planned for this next month.
A favorite quote for today…
I’ll get my revenge on the world or at least 49 percent of the people in it!
One of my favorite things…
One of the boxes I unpacked had a shit-ton of tea. Score!
A few plans for the rest of the week:
School shopping. Need new clothes, for the love of Hestia. I’ve dropped 14 pant sizes this year. At some point a birthday dinner.
A peek into my day…

Simple Woman’s Daybook #7

FOR TODAY

Outside my window…
It is an absolutely lovely day. It sprinkled  bit and it made me happy that it’s been sprinkly for the past two days. The grass will drink it up, and hopefully it won’t be brown anymore soon. This summer is unusually hot.
I am thinking…
I am being funky about a million little things. I’ll be moving out around the end of August or the start of September, and I will finally be out of my parents and instead moving in with my most beloved best friend. ❤
I am thankful…
That cherries are in season. That I have a wonderful boyfriend. That Chelsea won’t have to move away. I have a new TV show to follow. Life is well.
In the kitchen…
Since I haven’t been home of late, pretty much nothing. My mom made tacos for dinner. Nothing terribly exciting. I did take my BFF shopping for real food though.
I am wearing…
My hobos. I mean my pajamas.
I am creating…
If things go well, a garden soon! I want to plant tomatoes and onions and such before it’s too cold for them.
I am going…
To bed soon! ❤
I am wondering…
Why my mice are so adorable.
I am reading…
A lot of tumblr, lately.
I am hoping…
For the best with an apartment, of coure.
I am looking forward to…
My parents no longer throwing out the things I wanted to keep.
I am learning…
How to longboard, actually. I bought one earlier today. So far I have had minimal injuries on boards with wheels.
Around the house…
Le sigh. It is an absolute mess. I am considering making napalm and bombing my room.
I am pondering…
How long I will be up tonight when I want to be asleep.
A favorite quote for today…
Fight Like A Girl!
Seriously, we’re really pretty awesome.
One of my favorite things…
A new discovery — You know those lovely Girl Scout cookies? Apparently the Girl Scouts paired up with Hershey’s, and created Thin Mint flavored Crunch Bars. It is best for my waistline that this is supposed to be a limited edition thing.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Workworkworkworkwork.
A peek into my day…

Simple Woman’s Daybook #4

FOR TODAY

Outside my window…
The sun is shining brightly, squirrels are starting to mill around, and there are the flowers starting to pop out. I see many daffodils and hyacinths are being sneaky and saying hello. Don’t be shy, little flower, I love you!
I am thinking…
Sweet! Tasty ham!
I am thankful…
Despite my short-term baseness from my altar, it appears there are no hard feelings. Hooray!
In the kitchen…
Did I mention the delicious ham? Also, mashed potatoes.
I am wearing…
Just a white summer dress. 🙂
I am creating…
Probably painting my new D&D minis today. And working on my druid / ranger half-elf.
I am going…
Likely nowhere today, because I like to boldly go absolutely nowhere.
I am wondering…
Why my new pet is so adorable!!! ❤
I am reading…
Going to try re-reading the “Princes of Ireland” ; it’s a fantastic book and I love it.
I am hoping…
That tips are nice ; when I left work the other day the tip jar had been stuffed full over three times. Also, we sold over a thousand empanadas, meaning that everybody gets a bonus to their checks. Yay!
I am looking forward to…
Seeing le boyfriend tomorrow, and hanging out with le best friend.
I am learning…
Studying babies! Still thinking on that idea of being a midwife. (Non-nurse; doing home deliveries or water-births.)
Around the house…
Just me & the cats and the new mouse today. Dad is back from China or wherever he went. I don’t ask where he goes anymore, because likely I can’t find it on a map without searching for a minute.
I am pondering…
Boyfriend and I have been toying with the idea of moving to New Zealand. We already came to the idea we don’t want to live in the United States for forever. The question is where we will go.
A favorite quote for today…
“I was sad today I didnt’ wake up to (Lily). =( I was hoping to watch more Gravitation.” ~ A text message from my boyfriend!
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Prolly’ snuggling with some cats, hugging a mouse, wearing a necklace, blowing a few kisses and breaking a few hearts.
A peek into my day…
Today I am cleaning! I have laundry and dishes to do!

Also see post “My Mouse!” for a picture of my exploratory darling. I uploaded it wrong or something so it’s elsewhere.

Simple Woman’s Daybook #3

FOR TODAY

Outside my window…
The sun is out, the squirrels are milling around, and the birds are chirping. I think it’s safe to say that Persephone is back from the Underworld.
I am thinking…
About some things a guy said that made me think that I really should add a place for Hephaesteus, and gave me a new point to approach him with.
I am thankful…
For the nice weather, obviously. Winter never really hit, which wierded me out something awful, but hopefully next winter will be more, well, wintery. Likely complete with roadside deaths, windshield wipers frozen to the car, and wind strong enough to legitimately make it difficult to move forward when the wind is against you.
In the kitchen…
Tasty grilled hummus sammiches! They were really good, and I think I’ll make them with eggplant and sauteed mushrooms next time!
I am wearing…
A gray tanktop and jeans. I’m sexy.
I am creating…
I’ve been in the mood to knit a lot, lately, so that’s what I’ve been working on. And cleaning up my altar from bits of devotional knick-knacks, like candle stubbles and incense ash. And getting some roleplay done, like usual.
I am going…
Probably nowhere today, except maybe to get a Fanta or something from Noco. I’m being a hermit today. 😉
I am wondering…
Why the heck there are so many similarities between ancient Greek and ancient Norse belief systems. What the hell, guys. (Or if you’re Norse, what the Hel.)
Also, why Pete Burns ruined his perfect, androgynous David Bowie face.

I am reading…
Delicious blog posts from people I respect.
I am hoping…
Still hoping that bump on kitty’s lip isn’t an issue. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by it when I press on it, and is acting totally normal. Mom thinks it might just be cat acne. Also hoping certain prayers go through well for a certain someone finding a lady in his life. 😉
I am looking forward to…
Work tomorrow, oddly. I think it’s just because I get the first decent paycheck since the crappy rainy season started and made my hours go poof!
I am learning…
To cook, sort of. At least how to cook new things. I’m not the best, but I’m cute and honest, so please forgive me!
Around the house…
Cleaned and did all of boyfriend’s and biffle’s dishes, and my own room is actually decently not destroyed and mostly in order. Also, I cleaned the bathtub, hooray!
I am pondering…
Why bank is being angry I overdrafted freaking thirteen cents.
A favorite quote for today…
“She listens to the voices in my head” – Combichrist’s “Through These Eyes of Pain”
One of my favorite things…
Music from the 80s, and various kinds of music that fall under the broad definition of “electronica”.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
The week is mostly over, actually! But getting laundry done, pretending I’m a badass and maybe eating my vegetables.
A peek into my day…
Dancing to this:

Simple Woman’s Daybook #2

I totally stole this idea from Nuri, because I think it makes sense. A weekly devotional to Hestia, who reminds us not to worry too much about all the frustrations of daily life.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window…
One absolutely gorgeous moon!
I am thinking…
Forget Robot Chicken, give me Aqua Teen Hunger Force, or Aqua Unit Patrol Squad! (totally the same show.)
I am thankful…
Things are going incredibly well. On the Hellenismos.us website, the Greek paganism reconstructionists always say to raise your hands up to the sky when you are speaking to the Olympians, and tonight I finally decided to stop being so self conscious and to it. Now, I’m super excited and giddy, because I felt insanely connected.

Also, my bladder is misbehaving less now. I have a soft kitty.
In the kitchen…
Just an oven, sitting by itself tonight.
I am wearing…
Some comfy pajamas, nothing fantastic.
I am creating…
I got a pretty little necklace at Psychic’s Thyme today; it’s a little jar, blue and it has handles on it and a cork, with the image of a bird on both sides. I loaded it with herbs, and took inventory of all the ones I have while I was at it.
I am going…
Maybe for a walk in the woods tomorrow, the weather is insanely nice.
I am wondering…
About the Norsemen, and how I might be able to help Brian out, because he’s expressing more and more interest in Odinn, Frigga, Thor and company. Ditto on teaching Cassie about how to approach Greek deities, Athena in particular. I think perhaps she feels she has to get it perfectly on the first try, which is usually hardly the case.
I am reading…
The fabulous manga ‘Wandering Son’, about some kids who are experimenting with dressing like the opposite gender. Shuichi makes such a cute girl.
I am hoping…
That the bump on kitty’s lip is nothing to worry about, and that tomorrow is as nice as it was today outside.
I am looking forward to…
My snuggly, snuggly bed, complete with a kitten.
I am learning…
About ancestor veneration! Also about Kuan Yin; Chelsea’s altar is now mostly Kemetic (Egyptian) plus Kuan Yin as a wonderous Chinese goddess tagalong.
Around the house…
I need to clean, plain and simple. But I cleaned boyfriend’s apartment today instead. ;P Which is fine by me.
I am pondering…
Why did Taco Bell get rid of the delicious Beefy Crunch Burrito? Bring it back!
A favorite quote for today…
“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light”, or some variation thereof – Helen Keller.
One of my favorite things…
Mmm, blueberry bagel, only lightly warmed. ❤
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Maybe bothering Charlene and her kitties again, getting my room cleaned up, and Saturday’s D&D, as always.
A peek into my day…
Skyrim, an awesome best friend, and bothering Charlene at her shop for the second day in a row, and making my boyfriend’s life difficult purposely. 😀

Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window…

There are a couple  of cars going by, it’s a little rainy and it’s a quiet sort of afternoon. I approve. It’s the kind of day you spend on the porch drinking tea. Maybe I’ll get my boyfriend to drink some tea with me. … ❤ St. John’s Wort sounds lovely.

I am thinking…

That today is a day to spend napping, with warm tea and a warm boyfriend. Maybe I’ll bake some cookies while I clean up the apartment.

I am thankful…

For the boyfriend that understands when my bladder is  being not very nice to me. I bet it will fade of in a few days, it just needs some TLC. Like tea instead of loading it up with soda and juices and other caffeinated products.

In the kitchen…

I am considering making some cookies for Brian, along with working on making some bread. Cinnamon raisin bread sounds wonderful.

I am wearing…

A plain black sweater from Old Navy, a pair of dark wash jeans, and a slave bracelet.

I am creating…

Singing songs with my boyfriend, Smash Mouth’s “All Star”.

I am going…

To my house, later on. But I am spending time in my home with my friend and boyfriend’s apartment.

I am wondering…

What genius thought of putting all the fairy tale creatures in the fantastic fanfiction that is Shrek.

About eusebia and virtuous behaviour, and how to better uphold it.

I am reading…

I would like to read Walter Burkert’s “Greek Religion”.

I am hoping…

That my attempts to make bread go well! And that cookies do too; they always end up either undercooked or overcooked. It’s very sad.

I am looking forward to…

My tax return check. Tomorrow’s Pagan Blog Project.

I am learning…

More about witchcraft, and how it fits into Greek religion.

Around the house…

It’s a mess, and I’m going to be taking care of it very soon.

I am pondering…

How the Shrek movies went so bad after the second one. What the hell is with the spinoffs?

A favorite quote for today…

“I’m not only happy singing the lead, I also have to sing second voice and guitar.

One of my favorite things…

A fresh cup of hot tea. Sometimes this may end up being drowned in so much sugar so as to be unrecognizeable as tea. Coffee also falls victim to his.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

Going to Archimage, and buying more books and incense. I need to find a good one for Zeus.

A peek into my day…

I spy a wild boyfriend!
